Pre Prep Room
3 years to 5 years
Our Pre-Prep Room caters to children aged 3-5years. We have 2 staff in the room (a Teacher and an Educator Assistant) with a maximum of 24 children. The Pre-Prep room has a qualified Early Childhood Teacher who facilitates the Early Years Leaning Framework or the Queensland Kindergarten Program. The emphasis of the pre-prep room is on encouraging children to play a larger part in the planning process while developing skills that will be used at school.
In the Pre-Prep room staff closely monitor the children’s ever changing interests and then base learning around these experiences to ensure that the learning has intrinsic meaning and value to the children.
Opportunities are offered in the preschool room for children to learn through:

Daily Room Routine
- 6:30 - Centre Opens
- 6.30-9.00am Combined with Kindy (Inside/Outside Play)
- Pre-Prep begins
- 9.00-9.30 Lining up, washing hands,
- 9.30-9.45am Morning Tea
- 9:45-10.15am Group time; roll, story, songs, transition
- 9:45 - 10:50 Educational Program
- 10:50 - 11:00 Pack away time
- 11.00 – 11.05 Transition to Outdoors and Hats on, Sunscreen applied.
- 11.05 – 11.25 Outdoors Play
- 11.25-11.35 - Transition to make beds
- 11.40- Transition to lunch time - Hand washing
- 11.45 – 12.00 Lunch time
- 12.00 - 2:00 Sleep/Rest Time
- 2:00 - 2:30 Pack beds and sheets away, shoes on, wash hands
- 2:30 - 2:45 Afternoon tea
- 2:45 – 2.55pm Hats on Sunscreen applied.
- 3:00 - 4:45pm Outdoor play, combined with Kindy
- 4.45pm - Afternoon Snack
- 5.00-6.30pm Combined Indoor/Outdoor - weather dependent
- 6.30pm Centre Closes.
